Hammond Sportsplex Meets a Distinct Indiana Community Need

The $17 million project centered on creating a state-of-the-art facility that hosts numerous youth sports leagues, as well as weekend sports tournaments. Spanning 135,000 square feet, it includes a half dozen basketball courts and batting cages, 10 volleyball courts, and two indoor soccer fields built to regulation size. A concession area is available on site, as well as a community room designed for hosting municipal events.

Benefitting the general public is an upper level that has a running and walking track that extends a quarter mile, as well as seating for taking in sports events. As Mr. Ferrino described it, the Hammond Sportsplex project was personally meaningful, as it provides local youth with a “safe haven” in which to compete in athletics.
